Hello All,

Willing to pay up to 10K Australian for a hair transplant, but in Australia they start at 20K.

A lot of Aussies go to Thailand for cosmetic surgery, where is costs about a quarter of the cost (boob jobs, liposuction, hair, etc)

Am interested if anyone has a good story and a doctor or institute they can recommend, especially anyone that has travelled from Australia to have it done.

I heard Thailand is the best?? Any other places with cheaper prices anyone can recommend.

If anyone has had any bad experience of cosmetic surgey 'holidays' please let me know as well.

Thanks,

GC.

Hi George
Hair Transplant is one of the least intrusive procedures and very very common in Thailand>
I have arranged many many Hair Transplants for Australians and all have been extremely satisfied

Let's look at a typical a Hair Treatment Program. We shall assume you need 3000 grafts ..........
Hair Transplant Cost Australia
The cost can be OVER $6.00 - 7.00 per graft in Australia => 3000 x 7 = $210000

Hair Transplant Cost Thailand
Approx. 3000 x $3.00 $9000
Flights should be about $900
Hotel , fee etc $1500
$11500

Approx $10,000.00 SAVING !!

George
"bad experience of cosmetic surgery 'holidays'"

I think you are also asking about Plastic Surgery as distinct from Hair Transplants
I certainly hear of problems with plastic surgery procedures.

Unfortunately they are not infrequent however if you use the Tier 1 Hospitals and Have one of the leading surgeons you can achieve identical result as you could in Australia. For a major operation the total cost will be about half the cost at home

Dental surgery has similar large saving

If you go to a Tier 2 Hospital or a corner 'milkbar/drugstore' clinic then these are the ones when you may end up with the bad experience
Stick with the Tier 1 hosptials and leading surgeons

good luck

John

Hi George!

First thing, do you eat a Snickers bar with a knife and fork still?

Is cost your main concern of opting for a HT procedure? I am also from Australia and have weighed up every scenario of travel prior to making my decisions years ago.

Is Thailand a first choice for yourself? Is there a specific Doc you are interested there?

Should you ever need advice shoot me an email mate! I know what the decision process is like.

George I'm from Melbourne. Be very careful. Is it just the money? Who have you seen in Oz that you liked the results of? Make sure you are a suitable candidate for a HT to begin with. Make sure you are realistic with the results a HT will give you (not just now but in 30 years). George I don't know how old you are but if you are under 25 then you don't have the hindsight of 'time.' Be very careful. It won't be the HT you'll be disappointed in (nor the expense). It will be the scars left from surgery. Please read and look at all the REPAIR horror stories before you embark on this. HT's are like a bullet. Once you pull the trigger you can never go back.

Oncall is right. Don't go by the country or price. Go by results. I have been researching for years and am yet afraid to take the plunge. When I read posts like yours I feel sad.

Are you feeling lucky? Are you a gambling man? The odds might be against you.

Dr. Damkerng Pathomvanich of the DHT Clinic in Bangkok is by far and away the best hair restoration surgeon in Thailand.

He was won many awards and is recommended pretty much everywhere.

I have used him before and can vouch that his work is top notch.

George, you are looking to get butchered. Hair transplants are very serious and should never be taken lightly. Price should never be the deciding factor. You can't return a hair transplant and you sure can't get a damn refund with your receipt!
